IAG Academy: AZAV-funded preparation for the Kenntnisprüfung
The International Academy for Healthcare Professions (IAG) is our own AZAV-certified educational institution in Düsseldorf. We prepare international nurses for the German Kenntnisprüfung — with monthly course starts. In several federal states the IAG is recognised as a state-comparable institution and can administer the Kenntnisprüfung itself. All programmes are AZAV-certified and fully refinanceable.

Adaptation programmes
Structured adaptation measures for nurses with partially recognised credentials. Combination of theory blocks at the IAG and practice hours at a partner hospital.
ATA and MTR preparation
Dedicated preparation courses for Anaesthesia Technical Assistants and Medical-Technical Radiology Assistants, one of the few such programmes nationwide.
Nursing apprenticeship (AZAV programme)
New AZAV-funded generalist nursing apprenticeship. Programme start 11/2026, apprenticeship start 04/2027. Three-year programme with our own practice instruction. Suitable for international apprentices, includes integrated language support to B2.

Frequently asked questions about the IAG
As an AZAV-certified programme, the course is fully refinanceable through a Bildungsgutschein (education voucher). Hiring facilities typically incur no direct course fees. We will walk you through the specific refinancing path that applies to your case.
In several federal states the IAG is recognised as a state-comparable institution and can administer the Kenntnisprüfung itself. In the remaining states we have in-house state-certified examiners. That accelerates the exam process and ensures preparation maps directly to the exam format.
The standard course runs six months full time. We offer accelerated modules for participants with significant prior learning. Course duration ultimately follows the deficit notice issued by the relevant federal state.
Registered nurses (Pflegefachfrau/-mann), geriatric and health/clinical nurses, Anaesthesia Technical Assistants and Medical-Technical Radiology Assistants. From November 2026 we additionally start a new AZAV-funded generalist nursing apprenticeship (apprenticeship start 04/2027).
